A short helicopter flight from Davis Base, Antarctica, was Amanda Bay Emperor Penguin rookery. What a wonderful afternoon- surrounded by thousands of giant elegant Emperor penguins with their fluffy chirping chicks. As I watched they came right up to me showing very little fear.
